If you need to disconnect or reconnect the top of your Trone toilet—for example, for a repair or replacement—follow the steps below. The process will vary slightly depending on your model.
Step 1: Determine Your Model Type
- Models with “Easy Seat Lift” – These tops will pop off the toilet by simply using your hands—no tools required.
-
Other Models – You’ll need to unscrew a couple of screws before the top can be popped off.
Step 2: Disconnect the Top
- Turn off the water supply to the toilet.
- Unscrew all connecting hoses from the underside of the toilet top.
- If your model has screws, remove them before lifting off the top.
- Carefully lift the toilet top from the ceramic base.
-
Package the top in a Trone return box for shipping if you are sending it back for service.
Step 3: Reconnect the Top
When reinstalling the top:
- Place the toilet top back onto the ceramic base.
- Reconnect all hoses exactly as they were before.
- If your model has screws, reinsert and tighten them.
- Turn the water supply back on and test all functions.
